Drinking Drunk

It was the birthday for one of my colleagues, he invited a group of his colleagues, with some of his friends to celebrate his birthday at Double O Pub.

Hmm...it ended up with the birthday boy himself and another colleague becoming drunk.

I will never forget the image of that colleaugue, standing up holding a jug in his hand, and then fall down flat the next moment...It was like a tree being cut down! Imagine shouting the words "Timber!!!" as loggers do.

During that time, for the birthday boy, it took 4 of us guys to carry him to the toilet, where he vomited at least twice, the alcohol that he had imbibed. Anyway, his friends sent him back.

For the other drunk, it was given to me and another colleague to bring him back. But the poor chap had vomited all over his clothes and the floor. And so it was with some hesitation that we decided to bring him back.

When the taxi reached the carpark, below his block, we tried to pull him out, but he was too heavy for us. And just as we were pulling him out of the taxi, he started vomiting again!

O my goodness, half his vomit spewed into the taxi seats. Leaving his head and upper part of the body lying on the ground, we went to pull his legs (which were still in the taxi).

It was a ridiculously funny moment to handle a drunk that way, but well, both of us were truly tired, just trying to bring him the last few steps to his flat.

When I finally reached home, it was 1:30am.

Oh well...alcohol...

Cats of Chai Chee

Today I did my run (3km or 3.8km?) around the Chai Chee estates.

After my run, I walked around the Chai Chee estate, in particularly the districts of Ping-An and Ping Yi.

Just when I thought all the cats were caught or had run away...i came upon this empty balcony, where there were at least 8 cats within 10 metres of my location...wow...

But those cats seem a bit unfriendly...and touchy...

Remembering that i had been bitten by a kitten two weeks back, I didn't want to take any unnecesary chances...so I kept a respectful distance. I don't want to get rabies or any ailment that will transform me into CatMan...

July 2nd post: running for IPPT

I just did some running in preparation for my IPPT coming up next week. I think I am adapting better to the exercise. It is too since I really did any serious exercise. Even my swimming sessions have come to a standstill. I get tired easily.

I know: lack of exercise. These 4 years, I have been working too hard and without regard to my fitness and health. I go to work in the morning, dash off for classes and then come back and go online and sleep late. It is a vicious cycle. What is the purpose?

Oh well...looks like i have to start from afresh, a healthier lifestyle.

Er...then there is the matter of my fan fiction story...need to find a better job...completion of my degree (whether with UOL or some other university, I couldn't care)...learning about digital photography...how to cook...

These takes time...

Now I wish there are 48 hours in a day.

July: NKF saga

NKF (National Kidney Foundation): a charitable organization that made top news by being shown to have an HUMONGOUS amount of financial reserves. It was rumoured that they have gold-plated toilet taps for their CEO. (Mr T.T.Durai, who has resigned along with the rest of the board of directors)

With a huge outcry, the public expressed their anger and frustration on various forms of media. After all, the idea is that the money that the public donated should be used solely for the benefit of the dialysis patients.

Ok, the staff who work in NKF, should be paid, but then their pay should not be excessively high. It was rumoured that there was 12 months bonus for Mr Durai. (Oh my, where in the world and when am I going to see that kind of money!)

Oh well...the NKF saga continues with the appointment of a new board of directors. The important thing is that the dialysis treatment of the patients is not disrupted during this scandal.

We are talking people's lives here...For myself, I will not terminate my monthly donation...but NKF will also never get a cent more from me in increased donations.

Talk about wealthy charitible organizations, the "peanuts" salary as described by a high-powered person...talk of a class divide in Singapore.

I just wonder what is happening to Singapore.
